II. Application Notes

Non-immigrant visa inquiry window hours are from 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM.

U.S. visa application cases are often high in volume regardless of the month. Please schedule an interview appointment online as early as possible (appointments can be canceled or rescheduled as needed).

Interviewers may converse in Chinese with applicants, but all application documents (except passport and student ID) should be in English.

Dress neatly and comfortably for the interview, avoiding excessive makeup or attire.

During the interview, submit only the passport, application forms, and I‐20 to the interviewer. Additional documents may be requested by the officer if needed.

If the education expenses are sponsored by another person, the applicant should provide documentation explaining the relationship with the sponsor.

III. Fees

Visa application fee: NT$4,300 Applicants must pay the fee before coming to our association for visa application. Postal remittance account: 19189005, Payee: Bank of America, Trustee account for Visa Service Fee of the American Institute in Taiwan. Please provide an original postal remittance receipt for each applicant.

Additional Data Processing Center service fee: NT$320 Postal remittance account: 19832104, Payee: Taiwan EIS Corporation. When you come to the American Institute in Taiwan for visa application, please bring the service fee postal remittance receipt.

SEVIS I‐901 fee: US$200(F‐1), US$180(J‐1). Applicants for F, M (student), or J (exchange visitor) visas with I‐20 or DS‐2019 issued on or after September 1, 2004, must pay the SEVIS fee of approximately US$200 before applying for a visa. When you come to the American Institute in Taiwan for visa application, please bring the SEVIS fee payment receipt.

I. Application Procedures

Please bring a photocopy of the data page of your passport to the Visa Section of the Canadian Trade Office in Taipei, where you will receive instructions for medical examination. You will be assigned a student file number, please make a note of this number and include it on your application documents.

Submit a complete application within three months of receiving the medical examination forms (see "Required Documents" below).

Proof of Financial Support: Evidence of your ability to cover your expenses while studying in Canada. This could include bank statements in your or your parents' name in Taiwan or Canada, proof of tuition payment, living expenses, and scholarship funding.

Europe

I. Required Documents for Application

  1. Passport (valid for over 2 years)
  2. Visa application form, original and photocopy each
  3. Two 2-inch color photos (taken within the last three months), affix 1 photo to the application form. Photos must be recent, in color, without hats, clear facial features, front view, half-body, and on a white background. Sunglasses, composite photos, or snapshots are not accepted.
  4. Visa application declaration
  5. Copy of both sides of ID card or Alien Resident Certificate
  6. Educational qualifications: English graduation certificate of the highest level of education; for university dropouts, attach two copies of the university's English version of transcripts. Originals will be returned after verification, along with two photocopies.
  7. Proof of university admission, original to be returned after verification, along with two photocopies.

  9. For non-ROC citizens, proof of overseas travel insurance, in English, including overseas emergency medical assistance. Original to be returned after verification, along with two photocopies.
  10. Financial guarantee letter or German financial declaration (Verpflichtungserklaerung), showing deposits of over 7,716 euros (this amount must remain in the account for at least three months)

II. Application Notes

  1. Visa fee of 60 euros (approximately NT2,700 at the current exchange rate of 1:45), please pay in New Taiwan Dollars according to the exchange rate announced by the German Institute Taipei. The fee is non-refundable if the visa application is not approved or withdrawn.
  2. Visa must be applied for in person.
  3. Visa processing takes 6-8 working weeks.

Asia

I. Required Documents for Application

  1. Visa application form (with two 2-inch color photos taken within 6 months affixed)
  2. Original and photocopy of passport.
  3. Applicants must meet the following qualifications:

(1) Submit the original and photocopy of the admission notice from a college or university (original will be returned after verification); or (2) Submit two copies of the approval letter from the competent education administrative authority at all levels; or (3) Submit the original and photocopy of the school's admission permit (original will be returned after verification).

  1. Submit the original and photocopy of the health examination certificate issued by a designated domestic or foreign hospital within the last 3 months for foreign nationals designated by the Ministry of Health and Welfare (original will be returned after verification). Foreign health examination certificates must be verified by the Republic of China's overseas missions.
  2. Other relevant documents required for review, such as financial proof, purpose of visit proof, and guarantee letters from relatives in Taiwan.
  3. Visa applications must be submitted by the applicant to their home country, permanent residence country, or the Republic of China's overseas missions.

II. Application Notes

  1. Residence visa fees: NT$2,200 (US$66); Relative processing fees: NT$4,323 (US$131, currently applicable only to US citizens). An additional special handling fee of NT$800 (US$24) will be charged for applying for a residence visa after entering Taiwan with a visitor visa.
  2. Those entering Taiwan through visa-free or landing visa methods, or those entering Taiwan with visitor visas for purposes other than studying, are not allowed to request a change to a residence visa or an extension of stay based on the reason of studying. Exchange students or students attached to classes are not allowed to apply for visas for the purpose of studying.

I. Required Documents

  1. Japan visa application form

Please fill in the correct phone number of the applicant (if the current address is different from the address on the ID card, please attach the correct address and phone number), and please sign personally (the signature on the form and passport must be the same).

  1. One 2-inch color photo (do not use digital camera photos or composite photos), half-length, front view, without hat, ears visible, light background, do not wear military or police uniforms or sunglasses.
  2. Copy of ID card: one copy each of the front and back of the national ID card.
  3. Certificate of qualification for stay (original and photocopy of both sides).
  4. Original final graduation certificate.
  5. Passport: Passport valid for more than six months (old passports with Japanese visa records must be submitted together).
  6. Generally, it can be collected the day after the application; if there are more applicants, it may take 2 working days.
  7. The application form must be submitted and collected by the applicant in person, and the fee is NT$900.

II. Application Notes

  1. If the passport is damaged, altered, or modified, please apply for a new passport before applying for a Japanese visa.
  2. Applicants who are not in the country are not allowed to apply for a Japanese visa in the country.
  3. If there are commemorative stamps in the passport, please apply for a new passport before applying for a visa.
  4. There is a limit to the number of applications accepted for Japanese visas within one day. If there are time constraints or other factors, applicants may be required to apply for the visa in person. Therefore, please apply as early as possible.

II. Application Notes

  1. To work or study in Malaysia, you need to apply through the Malaysian company or school first. Once approved by the Immigration Department, the Malaysian Immigration Department will notify the embassy or consulate in the applicant's area to issue a social visa. After arriving in Malaysia, you can then exchange it for the corresponding type of long-term visa at the Immigration Department. For studying at Malaysian universities, the application should be made from the school to the headquarters of the Immigration Department.
  2. The Student Pass is issued to students attending relevant institutions in Malaysia. The duration of stay is generally 6 to 12 months and can be extended upon expiry.
  3. Student Entry Qualifications:

(1) Accepted by public or private institutions of higher education to study full-time courses (including English courses).

(2) Ability to afford tuition and living expenses.

(3) No intention to work in Malaysia and leave Malaysia upon completion of the course.

I. Required Documents

1. Required Documents for Application

  1. For New Applicants:

(1) Copy of ID card

(2) One recent passport-sized photo taken within the last three months

(3) Copy of the valid page of passport with a validity period of over six months

(4) Application fee for a new card is approximately NTD 1700; if the Taiwanese Compatriot Permit is still valid but reapplication is necessary, it will be returned and a handling fee of NTD 100 will be charged.

(5) Application Agencies: Various major travel agencies, issuing the card approximately 10 working days after application.

  1. Endorsement: Holders of valid Taiwanese Compatriot Permits can go directly to the "China Travel Service" at the airports in Hong Kong or Macau to obtain endorsements. The endorsement fee is approximately NTD 600 per application.

2. Application Notes

  1. The Taiwanese Compatriot Permit is valid for five years. Residents of Taiwan must hold a valid Taiwanese Compatriot Permit and apply for entry endorsements each time before visiting mainland China.
  2. Newly issued permits allow a stay of 3 months, but departure must occur before the expiration date. If you need to stay beyond the expiration date before departure, you can go to the local public security bureau to apply for an extension.
  3. A Taiwanese Compatriot Permit is only required for visits to mainland China, and an endorsement is needed each time before using the permit.

Oceania

2. Application Notes

  1. Students applying for Bachelor's degree programs can choose to apply online for an electronic student visa (e-visa) or a regular student visa; students applying for Diploma programs can only apply for a regular student visa.
  2. Differences between electronic student visas (e-visas) and regular student visas:

  Electronic student visa (e-visa):

   Fewer documents are required. Apart from the need to apply online first and then print the form to undergo a medical examination at a designated hospital, all procedures can be done online in English; there will be no visa sticker on the passport, so visa information must be printed when entering or exiting Australia.

  Regular student visa:

   More documents are required, and a medical examination at a designated hospital is also necessary before sending the required documents to the Australian Commerce and Industry Office in Taiwan. However, if there are any questions when filling out the information, the office usually contacts the students to confirm the details.

  2. Visa processing time is 5 working days. Processing time for some visa applications may exceed five working days, so please apply as early as possible to avoid travel delays.
